JEGS officials have announced the first group of entries that have arrived for the season opening 7-UP 100 on April 11th at Toledo Speedway, located in Toledo, Ohio. The event will once again have the best of the ARCA/CRA Super Series battling the best of the ARCA Midwest Tour. The ARCA Gold Cup Outlaw Late Models will also be a part of this year’s event with their own 100 lap feature.
Topping the list of entries to date is the 2014 winner of the 7-UP 100, Michigan veteran racer Brian Campbell, who is now a 14 time winner with the ARCA/CRA Super Series. Campbell had to battle 2011 series Champion Derrick Griffin in the middle of last year’s event, then hold off a hard-charging Anderson Bowen to get the win during two restarts with five laps to go.
Also entered is 2013 and 2014 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Travis Braden, who is looking to get his first ever win at Toledo Speedway. The West Virginia University Engineering student picked up two series victories during the 2014 season, one at Columbus Motor Speedway and one at Toledo’s sister track, Flat Rock Speedway.
Chicagoland veteran Eddie Hoffman is entered driving the potent TK Racing entry. The nine time ARCA/CRA Super Series winner stayed a little closer to home last season competing mostly at Grundy County Speedway and Illiana Motor Speedway, but will venture out to some of the bigger template late model races this year.
Part-time ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards competitor Cody Coughlin is entered. The 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion picked up his first ARCA/CRA Super Series victory last year on Labor Day Weekend at Winchester Speedway. CRA veteran competitor Rick Turner, a three time series winner, is entered, along with Brandon Oakley, who picked up his first series win at Kil-Kare Raceway last year. Fellow CRA competitors Paul Shafer Jr., Matt Hall and Brett Robinson are also entered along with Wisconsin veteran Mike Litchfield.
Three ARCA/CRA Super Series Senneker Performance Rookie of the year candidates have already filed entries, including 2014 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Rookie of the Year Grant Quinlan, who picked up two series victories in his rookie year, one at Salem Speedway and one at Springport Motor Speedway. Fellow rookie Hunter Baize makes the jump up from the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, where he picked up his first series victory last season at Columbus Motor Speedway. Modified veteran Jordan Pruitt will move up to full body cars for the 2015 season to compete for the rookie award with the ARCA/CRA Super Series, while still competing in some Modified events.
Additional entries for the 7-UP 100 are expected to continue to arrive over the next three weeks leading up to the event. Entry forms and additional information on the ARCA/CRA Super Series is available at www.cra-racing.com.
