Salem, IN (September 15, 2021) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will continue their 2021 season with the running of the Byrider 75 this Saturday at Anderson Speedway, located in Anderson, IN. Saturday’s Byrider 75 will be the third of three series events held at Anderson Speedway during the 2021 season.
Jeff Marcum picked up the win in the series 2021 season opener at Anderson Speedway on April 17th, leading 74 laps of the 75-lap event. Austin Coe picked up his first series win of the 2021 season at the series second event at Mt. Lawn Speedway on May 23rd, holding off a hard charging Billy Hutson to get the close win. Cassten Everidge picked up his first ever series win in the series third event of the season on June 5th at Winchester Speedway and is now locked into the series 2021 Chase for the Championship. Defending series Champion Billy Hutson picked up the win in the series event at Angola Motor Speedway on July 10th. Marcum became the first two time series winner in 2021 in the series last event at Anderson Speedway on August 14th.
Hutson, the 2007 and 2020 series Champion, was the series Regular Season Champion in 2021 and is one of four Chase for the Championship drivers set to compete for the series Championship at Winchester Speedway on Saturday, October 16th, as long as he competes in both Chase events leading up to the Season Championship event at Winchester. Hutson will be seeking to claim his record third series Championship, he is currently tied with Charlie Hanna and Keith Sterkowitz, all three currently have two series Championships a piece.
The other three series 2021 Chase for the Championship drivers includes Winchester winner Everidge, leading series rookie Kyle Worley and J. P. Crabtree. All three of those drivers are seeking their first CRA and series Championship.
Saturday’s Byrider 75 will pit the series regular competitors against the Anderson Speedway McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models. Marcum was crowned the 2021 McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models points Champion after the tracks Championship events on August 28th, were Marcum picked up his sixth feature win of the season at Anderson Speedway. Marcum has now won the McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models Championship five times. Buddy Davis finished in second place in points at Anderson, followed by Mike Sargent in third place.
There will be an optional open practice at Anderson Speedway this Friday, pits open at 3:30pm, with open practice from 4:30 to 7:30pm. Pit gates open at 2pm on Saturday. Practice will begin at 4:30pm with qualifying beginning at 6pm. The race program is set to begin at 7:30pm and will include the Byrider 75 for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman. Also racing that night will be the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks in the Peterman Brothers Heating, Cooling & Plumbing 75 and the USSA Midgets.
