Harrison, Michigan (Wednesday, April 29, 2015): Coming off of the first two races of the 2015 racing season in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, 16-year-old Grant Quinlan is off to a fast start in the premier tour within Champion Racing Association (CRA) Powered by JEGS. Finishes of third at Toledo Speedway (OH) on April 11th and his most recent outing, an eighth place showing at Anderson Speedway (IN) on April 26th has Quinlan sitting on top of both the Overall and Rookie of the Year point standings.
In the last race, the Madison County Community Health Center 125 at the fast 1/4 (0.250) mile high-banked paved oval in Anderson, Indiana, Quinlan ran in the top five for the majority of the race until a cut tire late in the event relegated him to an eighth place showing. “We had a good race car, qualified our Chevrolet SS second quick and in the race it was real good, especially at the end,” Offered the Great Lakes State teenager.
“I was running second and trying to pass for the lead, I moved the 23 (Eddie Van Meter) car a bit in turn two, I wasn’t trying to wreck him, just get him up out the way a bit, he did a good job and got back by me in three, he’s a tough competitor,” Explained Quinlan. “I know he wasn’t happy with me, he gestured out the window on the back side then got into me under caution, after that we had a right rear going down, I only had three Hoosier tires to finish on and we brought it home eighth, it was a hand full those last few laps. Congratulations to him and his team on the win.” He added.
The next race on the 2015 schedule is back to where it all began for the Harrison, Michigan teenager. The site of his first ever start in a Late Model. We will go to Springport and see if we can repeat what we did there last September.” He ended.
