Newport, Michigan (April 6, 2015) – Towards the end of the 2014 racing season, Matt Hall finally garnered the finish he had long been searching for in the ARCA/
CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS. An impressive fourth place showing in his 13th career start on Labor Day Monday, September 1st at Winchester Speedway
(IN) proved to everyone and mostly to himself, that he truly did belong running with the elite drivers in the country.
Now with the 2015 racing season on the horizon, Hall and his Matt Hall Motorsports Team are full steam ahead towards a run at the 2015 ARCA/CRA
Super Series Championship. It all begins just 30 minutes south of the Newport, Michigan race shop at the famed 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of
Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, April 11th. The series’ 19th season of competition kicks off with the running of the 7-Up 100 Presented by
Royal Truck & Trailer Sales.
“After the Toledo race last year we knew that it was time for equipment to be updated before running anymore in the 2014 season.” Explained the recently
turned 22-year-old on April 1st. “After putting together the new car we were able to find some of the speed we were looking for. We are excited to be partnering
with Kyle Jones for the year and expect great things starting out at Toledo as the last two years have been a struggle. We have put in the time this off season in
hopes of a great start at Toledo.” He added.
In 14 career ARCA/CRA Super Series starts, Hall has recorded one top five finish, which was the fourth place effort at Winchester on Labor Day Monday in 2014. He has competed off and on with the ARCA/CRA Super Series since the 2011 racing season. He has also generated two top 10 finishes.
“Our races last year proved that the improvements we made to our equipment were exactly what we needed. We led laps, qualified up front and if it wasn’t for a tire issue in practice at Winchester during 400 week, who knows what may have been.” Added Crew Chief Brian Moore. “This year we have upped our game on the technical side by bringing Kyle Jones on board as Car Chief and I look for big things early and often. Our team is ready for a break out year and there is no better place to get it started than in front of our friends and family at Toledo Speedway.” He stated.
Prior to his full bodied stock car career, the Great Lakes State driver enjoyed success in Go-Karts as well as Micro Sprints before moving up to full-size cars in 2008. In the old Super Pro Late Model Series that year, he finished fifth overall in Super Pro points and captured the Rookie of the Year title while Crew Chief, Brian Moore was awarded the Crew Chief of the Year award in the series.
After a trying 2009 season that saw him finish 10th in Super Pro points, the 2010 racing season saw Hall qualify in the top three in every Super Pro Series race held. But a hard crash at Winchester Speedway in August had the rest of the season in doubt for the team. They regrouped the best way possible though in a return trip to the high-banks and would win the Winchester 50 during that years Winchester 400 Weekend en route to salvaging another 10th place finish in the final points standings for the second year in a row in what would be the last year for the series. His win at Winchester that October ended up being the final race ever for the Super Pro Series.
