Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Set for 125 Lap Event at Lucas Oil Raceway Friday
Salem, Indiana (Tuesday, May 5, 2015): The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will return to action this Friday in one of their biggest events of the season, a 125 lap, $2000 to win race at Lucas Oil Raceway located in Brownsburg, Indiana, just West of Indianapolis. The event will be the second Season Championship Points event of the season for the series and the second in the Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series presented by Visit Hendricks County.
In the Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series presented by Visit Hendricks County season opener on April 24th for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, Shawn Amor completed a sweep of that event by being the events Scorpion Racing Products Fast Qualifier, then coming from his fifth place starting position to battle Trey Craig and get the win. Amor comes into Friday night’s event as the points leader in that divisions Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series points, Trey Craig is in second, Jared Thomas is third, Billy Van Meter is fourth with Scott Tomasik in fifth place.
Jack Dossey III got his first ever Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman win last Saturday night at Anderson Speedway in the series season point’s opener. It was a hard fought victory that saw Dossey come from the tail of the field to get the win after being involved in an earlier caution while battling for the lead. The 2014 series Rookie of the Year comes into this Friday’s event leading the series Championship point standings. Jason Atkinson is in second, J.P. Crabtree is in third, rookie Mathew Parsons is in fourth with fellow rookie Tony Brutti in fifth place.
Friday’s race will be 125 laps counting yellows the first 100, the last 25 laps will be all green. There will be a 10 minute break at lap 75 for teams to add fuel and make adjustments. The race is just a four tire event.
Pit gates will open on Friday at 5pm. Practice/Qualifying will begin at 6:30. The race program is set to begin at 7:45 and will include 8 lap heat races and a 20 lap feature for the Vores Compact Touring Series and the 125 lap Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman feature.
General admission adult tickets for Friday will be $15, kids 12 and under will get in free. The event will feature free parking. A $20 ticket upgrade will be available for indoor seating to watch from a skybox. Skyboxes do not include catering. Pit Passes are $30 for drivers and crew.
