19-Year-Old Quinnton Bear To Go ARCA/CRA Racing After Podium Finish In Last JEGS/CRA Event
Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year point’s leader heads to another new track; Kalamazoo Speedway
Avon, Indiana (Tuesday, August 11, 2015): As the 2015 racing season continues for 19-year-old Quinnton Bear, the current Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year points leader in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance has an eye towards the future. 2016 plans call for a full on assault on the premier tour within Champion Racing Association (CRA), the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS. Bear has a limited schedule of events in ARCA/CRA in preparation for the full run next year and his next race in 2015 is one of those races.
Kalamazoo Klash XXIII is on Wednesday, August 12th at the fast 3/8s (0.375) mile high-banked paved oval of Kalamazoo Speedway in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The ARCA/CRA Super Series is a part of the prestigious midweek special with the running of the Boyne Machine Company 125. This will be Bear’s second planned start of the season in ARCA/CRA as he has at least one, upwards of three more starts planned in order to keep his 2016 Rookie eligibility intact for the full schedule next season.
“We’re still hungry for our first win. Kalamazoo this Wednesday with the ARCA/CRA Super Series will be a lot of fun. We’re going up there with our Crate Motor and see what we can do,” The 19-year-old from Avon, Indiana stated as he and his Quinnton Bear Racing Team prepare for the third straight trip to Michigan in two and a half weeks.
“We think the crate motor is the way to go at this place. We’ve heard a lot about it and I think we’ll do well there. There’s some good cars entered, so we will see what we can do. That I’m very blessed to be part of a great team and have the opportunity to do what I love.” Added the Hoosier State teenager.
In Bear’s last JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour race, the Dog Days of Summer 100 Presented by JEGS.com at the 0.393 mile semi-banked paved oval of Auto City Speedway located north of Flint in Clio, Michigan on Saturday, August 8th. Auto City was the sixth new track out of the seven overall JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour races held so far this season for Bear. In the race, he qualified third out of 24 cars and brought home another top five, his second podium showing of the year, in third.
So far in 2015, Bear has made one ARCA/CRA Super Series start. After Qualifying in 11th, he finished a respectable ninth at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) on July 24th. In JEGS/CRA action, he is the top freshman by a wide margin while sitting an impressive third overall in points. He has four top five finishes with a season high finish of a second at Dixie Motor Speedway (MI) on July 10th in the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com.
His top five’s also account for his four top 10 showings and he is the only driver left in 2015 to have competed in every JEGS/CRA race this season when including the non-points SpeedFest 2015 back in January at Watermelon Capital Speedway (GA).
For the rest of the 2015 racing season in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, Bear’s familiar white and black #94 Buzze Racing / Quinnton Bear Racing / Chevrolet will have additional sponsorship decals and support from Bear’s Lawn Service as well as Bassett Racing Wheels, Sparco, PGG Enterprises, McGunegill Engine Performance and M.P.H.
