Brian Campbell Ready To Hit The Road For Two ARCA/CRA Super Series Races In The Home State Of Michigan
Kalamazoo Speedway & Flat Rock Speedway up next for the Lakeshore Motorsports Team
Wyoming, Michigan (Tuesday, August 11, 2015): With a weekend off from competition at Berlin Raceway in the tracks Boyne Machine Company Super Late Model Series, Brian Campbell is not planning on sitting idle. There’s two ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS races in a span of four days in his home state of Michigan and his Lakeshore Motorsports Team will make the trip to both events. The Boyne Machine Company 125 on Wednesday, August 12th at Kalamazoo Speedway and then on Saturday, August 15th at Flat Rock Speedway.
“We’re heading out on the road, but we don’t have to travel too far for a couple of races in a few days. I love Kalamazoo. We’ve won our first CRA race there back in 2006. Man that seems like so long ago,” Smiled the Wyoming, Michigan driver as he prepares for the ARCA/CRA Super Series portion of the prestigious Kalamazoo Klash XXIII. “We nearly won the Template Super Late Model race there a few years ago before it became an ARCA/CRA race. Hopefully we’ll go down there, run well, keep the car clean and then head to Flat Rock in a couple of days. Hopefully it’ll be a good weekend for us and we’ll get ourselves a couple of strong finishes.” He added.
Despite missing two races within the ARCA/CRA Super Series, he is still an impressive seventh in the season long points standings with two victories. Those wins came at Toledo Speedway (OH) back on April 11th and at his home track of Berlin on May 16th. In those five appearances and in addition to the trips to victory lane, he has a seventh and an eighth place efforts to his credit and one Fast Qualifier award, also at Berlin on May 16th. He also recently won in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance appearance at Berlin on August 1st.
The JEGS/CRA win at Berlin in the Berlin 100 Presented by JEGS.com & Boyne Machine Company was his third victory in that tour in only four career starts in the Crate motored series. Campbell was the winner of the inaugural race for the tour back on April 23rd, 2011 at Toledo and in his last JEGS/CRA appearance prior to Berlin back on September 1st, 2012 at Owosso Speedway (MI); Campbell also went to victory lane. Ironically prior to the August 1st race, he has never made a JEGS/CRA start at his home track, the fast 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval in Marne, Michigan.
“We weren’t even thinking about going to that race until about three days before. The car was in pieces from getting wrecked down in Indy (Lucas Oil Raceway) the previous weekend and we didn’t even have a crate motor to use,” Laughed the 36-year-old West Michigan standout.”With the race being at home (Berlin Raceway), we all pitched in; got the car back together, borrowed a motor and we did real good. I can’t say enough about this team. We’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy quite a bit of success there. The fans are really great to race in front of and it’s a bonus that the entire family was there too.” He ended.
In racing action at his home track of Berlin, he has three Feature wins on the season in the tracks Boyne Machine Company Super Late Model Series. Concentrating primarily on Berlin throughout the 2015 racing season, he is second in the tracks mini-series points just eight markers out of the points lead with just two points nights left on August 22nd and August 29th before the historic fairgrounds facility converts over to a dirt track for the month of September.
