Matt Hall Coming Home To Flat Rock Speedway For The 7-Up 125
Newport, Michigan freshman making the 10-minute drive to the fast 1/4 mile
Newport, Michigan (Friday, August 14, 2015): The second of three ARCA/CRA Super Series events in a 10-day span would be at fast 1/4 (0.250) mile high-banked paved oval of Flat Rock Speedway. Rookie of the Year contender, Matt Hall’s home track and one race that he has been looking forward to all season long. Saturday, August 15th is the date for the 7-Up 125. The ARCA owned facility is just 10 minutes from the Matt Hall Motorsports race shop in Newport, Michigan.
“We’re ready to get back to home to Flat Rock. It’s only a few miles from the shop and we feel confident we can have a strong finish as we have been running in the top three the last two years before we suffered mechanical failures.” Explained the 22-year-old driver. “This is always a big race for us with a good turnout of family and friends in the stands. We have been working hard these last two days putting in long days in order to get ready in the quick two day turn around. Just glad to be home for a weekend.” He added.
The week began with a special midweek race. The Boyne Machine Company 125 on August 12th at the fast 3/8s (0.375) mile high-banked paved oval of Kalamazoo Speedway in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This race was part of the tracks signature event; Kalamazoo Klash XXIII. The most prestigious Outlaw bodied Super Late Model race in the country. For the second year in a row, the ARCA/CRA Super Series is a part of the show. Hall came through with a 10th place run in his first ever appearance at the Southwest Michigan speed plant.
After the Flat Rock event, Hall and crew will make the trek down to a race track that Hall has experience on from his days in the old Super Pro Late Model Series, the big 1/2 (0.500) mile semi-banked paved oval of Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the Summit City 100 Presented by Trucking Fort Wayne.
Eight races into the 2015 racing season, Hall is fifth overall in the standings. and a solid third in the rookie of the year title chase. He has two top 10 finishes with the last one coming at Kalamazoo. His first 10th place run came at Illiana Motor Speedway (IN) on Memorial Day Monday, May 25th in the ARCA/CRA portion of the Calypso Lemonade Chicagoland Shootout. Six of the seven races ran have resulted in at least a top 15 finish.
