Oh so Close For Leeck at Flat Rock Speedway
Huntersville, North Carolina (Wednesday, August 19, 2015): Dan Leeck is no stranger to success in the Champion Racing Association’s (CRA) JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour but is still relatively new to the other premier CRA Series, the ARCA/CRA Super Series. Leeck scored his career-best ARCA/CRA Super Series finished last Saturday, scoring a second-place finish in the 7-UP 125 at Flat Rock Speedway (Mich.).
The (0.250) 1/4-mile Flat Rock Speedway (Mich.) played host to the ARCA/CRA Super Series on August 15, 2015. Leeck qualified fourth and battled with Brian Campbell and eventual race winner, Hunter Baize all race long. Other than Baize, he was the only driver to lead a lap. With five laps remaining, the 25-year-old Birch Run, Mich., native had an opportunity to use the bumper to get around Baize but showed Baize respect. Again with two to go, Leeck was there but instead of using the bumper, raced him clean. Although Baize was victorious, Leeck’s performance didn’t go unnoticed.
“I just want to thank Dan (Leeck) for racing me clean at the end,” Baize said in a post-race interview. “That is what racing is all about and shows why he is a champion.”
“Just came up a little short at the end,” Leeck said. “Overall, though, for a crate motor, that was a great run for us. Thank you to my family, friends, and sponsors for all the support.”
This coming Saturday, Leeck heads to the fast (0.500) 1/2-mile Bear Field Speedway located in Fort Wayne, Ind., again with the ARCA/CRA Super Series. Summit City 100 Presented by Trucking Fort Wayne on Saturday, August 22, 2015, will be race No. 10 in ARCA/CRA Super Series.
Leeck’s No. 12 Chevrolet SS will carry sponsorship from Mr. Asphalt, Wellman Excavating, Bridge Lake Auto and Repair, Diesel Truck Sales, Helm Electric, Beyea Custom Headers, Checkered Flag Graphics, Hightower Racing Transmission, and Ilmor/PHM Engines.
