John VanDoorn is 30th Entry for Dixie 100
Multi-Time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion, John VanDoorn is the 30th driver to file an entry for the 5th running of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com. VanDoorn will be piloting the Lisa Thomas Salon, VanDoorn Racing Development, Chevrolet this Friday during the Dixie 100 at Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan.
Illinois short track veteran, Eddie Hoffman, also driving a Lisa Thomas Salon Chevrolet, won the inaugural Dixie 100 on June 17, 2011. Current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitors and former JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champions, Daniel Hemric and Cody Coughlin drove to victory lane in 2012 and 2013. After a year away from Dixie Motor Speedway in 2014, the Tour returned in 2015 where 2014 Tour Champion, Dan Leeck won in-front of a huge hometown crowd.
In addition to VanDoorn, five more drivers have submitted an entry for the Dixie 100 over the weekend including; area Modified driver, Joey Morisette Jr., former Quarter Midget National Champion, Carson Hocevar, former ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion, Travis Braden, Beavercreek, Ohio’s, Brandon Oakley and Chesterfield, Michigan’s, Jay Sommers. Wheeling, West Virginia driver, Travis Braden’s entry makes nine different US States in addition to the one Canadian Province that will be represented this Friday at Dixie Motor Speedway.
JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Dixie 100 – Entry List
Pure Stocks and GLS Mini Cups will join the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Late Models on this exciting night of racing. The Pure Stocks will utilize Owosso Speedway rules and race for a cool $400 to win ($85 to start).
There is an Open Practice on Thursday, July 7th that will be from 4:30 until 7:30pm. Pit Passes are $20 and grandstand admission is FREE.
Friday, July 8th is race day. Pit Gates will open at 1:00pm with grandstands opening at4:00pm, the same time as when practice begins. Qualifying is set for 6:00pm, an on-track autograph session is scheduled for 7:00pm and racing begins at 8:00pm. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and teens, only $5 for kids 5 to 12 years of age and kids under five are FREE.
