FLAT ROCK, MI—NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Chris Buescher will greet race fans and sign autographs at Flat Rock Speedway on Saturday, August 27.
Buescher is in a battle to qualify for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase for the Championship based on his victory at Pocono in July. The Front Row Motorsports driver’s win, at the wheel of his Ford Fusion, will qualify him for the Chase if he maintains a championship points position in the top 30. Buescher won the 2012 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards driving championship as a Roush Fenway development driver in Fords fielded by the Roulo Brothers Racing team, and went on to win the 2015 NASCAR Xfinity Series driving championship in Fords fielded by Roush Fenway Racing.
“Happy to be able to visit with the race fans at Flat Rock Speedway in August when we are racing at Michigan Int’l Speedway,” said the 24-year-old native of Prosper, Texas, who has 4 ARCA wins at Toledo Speedway among his 10 career ARCA Racing Series victories. “I appreciate short track racing, having run in the Legends Series and at lots of short tracks with ARCA at places like Toledo too. I’m looking forward to meeting folks at Flat Rock.”
Joining Buescher’s appearance headlining the Saturday, August 27 schedule at Flat Rock Speedway is the 7-Up 125, the annual appearance of the ARCA CRA Super Series. Also on the card are the Harris Mechanical Season Championships for ARCA Figure-8s and ARCA Street Stocks, in addition to the rainout rescheduled Enduro 250. In all, nearly 500 laps of feature racing are on tap.
The 7-Up 125 features over 20 entries from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Florida. Series point leader Cody Coughlin, Dalton Armstrong, Brian Campbell and Scott Hantz will do battle with local favorites Clarity Newhouse and past Flat Rock Speedway track champions Ron Allen and Eric Lee.
Due to the expanded content of the racing program, an earlier start will see preliminary heat races beginning at 6:15pm.
