Griffith Jr. Takes Over Lead in the Cometic Gasket Hardcharger StandingsScott Menlen
Salem, IN (September 29, 2016) – 2015 Cometic Gasket Season Hardcharger Award winner Wes Griffith Jr. has now taken over the lead in the 2016 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger standings after ten ARCA/CRA Super Series point events so far this season. Griffith Jr. has now gained a total of 30 positions so far this season, including gaining 13 positions in the series Labor Day Weekend event at Winchester Speedway and eight positions in last Sunday’s event at Lucas Oil Raceway. The 45th Annual Winchester 400 on Sunday, October 9th will be the final series event of the 2016 season.
Griffith Jr. took the lead from Lakeland, Florida competitor Steve Dorer who has gained a total of 25 positions so far this season and had led the Hardcharger Award for most of the season. Current series point’s leader Cody Coughlin is now tied for third with 18 gained positions this season, including gaining 11 in last Sunday’s Lucas Oil Raceway event. 2015 series Champion Grant Quinlan is tied with Coughlin. Thomas Woodin is in fifth with 15 gained positions.
Cometic Gasket, the Official Gasket of the ARCA/CRA Super Series, will award a $600 bonus to the season leader in the Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Standings at the 2016 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet. A driver has to be in the top 15 in series points to be eligible for this award.
