Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman back in Action Sunday at Baer Field Motorsports Park
Salem, IN (May 4, 2017) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will head north to Baer Field Motorsports Park in Ft. Wayne, Indiana this Sunday, May 7th as part of the Spring Break Out event that will also include the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Powered by Chevrolet. The series last raced at Baer Field in July of 2013 when Jason Atkinson went to victory lane.
Veteran CRA driver Terry Fisher Jr. got the win in the series season opener at Lucas Oil Raceway, as part of the 8th Annual Cabin Fever Championships, when then leader Shawn Amor suffered engine problems late in the event with a commanding lead that ended his day, giving Fisher Jr. the lead and eventually the win in the Cabin Fever Championships 40.
Fisher, a three time winner with the series in 2016, comes into Sunday’s event at his home track with the series points lead. Thomas Hufferd is second in points after his career high second place finish at Lucas Oil Raceway, he is three points behind Fisher Jr. Former series Champion and Ft. Wayne native KC Spillers is third in points, he is three points behind Hufferd. Jason Timmerman is fourth is series points, he is two points behind Spillers. Keith Lyons is in fifth place, he is two points behind Timmerman.
The Baer Field Speedway Late Model Sportsman are scheduled to race as part of the Spring Break Out Saturday night program. The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman are invited to race with them on Saturday.
On Sunday, pit gates open 7:30am, the series will have one 45 minute practice session. Qualifying will begin at 12;30pm, with the race program set to begin at 2pm. Also racing that day will be the Baer Field Modifieds and Street Stocks.
