CRA Adds Bristol 895 Tire to Street Stock Tire Options for Remainder of Season Starting at Winchester Bi-Centennial 200
Additional Winchester Bi-Centennial 200 Details Announced
Salem, IN – (July 20, 2018) – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials announced today that the Hoosier 895 tire designed for use at Bristol for the Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks, will be allowed for use for the remainder of the season for any of the CRA Street Stocks remaining events, starting at the Winchester Bi-Centennial 200, on August 5th. The Hoosier Comanche will still be an option for teams as well. Series officials felt that using the Bristol 895 tire for the 200 laps at Winchester might save some teams money. Recent races at similar Salem Speedway have seen the need for six tires instead of four for 200 lap races. The additional option of the 895 tire may make it better for the next 200 lap event, and the remaining events overall.
For the Winchester Bi-Centennial 200, teams will be allowed to use either tire or mix and match. You must start the race on the tires you qualify on. Cars will be impounded after qualifying. There will be a break at lap 100. Teams can change up to two tires at the break. Teams will be lined up for the second 100 by how many tires they change, no tires, then one tire, then two tires. No tire changes will be allowed at any other time unless it is for approved flats.
Motion Motors, the official CRA Street Stock tire dealer, will be the only place to order the 895 prior to the Winchester event. They will be receiving the new tire option in their next delivery of tires. To order your 895 or Comanche tires, contact Jack Neal at Motion Motors at 765-606-4286.
The Bi-Centennial 200 on August 5th has the highest purse of any CRA Street Stock race in 2018. The purse highlights show $3500 to win, $400 for 10th and $175 to start, for the expected 28 car starting field.
With the promotion of the Bi-Centennial celebration of Winchester and Randolph County with this event, Winchester Speedway officials already have almost $5,000 in additional bonus money committed for the Bi-Centennial 200. Some of the bonuses include $200 for the events fast qualifier, $200 if a previous 2018 winner wins, $250 for the leader at lap 25, $100 for the leader at lap 33, $100 for the halfway leader at lap 100, $100 for the leader of lap 123, $100 to the finisher advancing the most positions, $100 to the team traveling the furthest and much more!
The Bi-Centennial 200 is the fourth event in the 2018 CRA Street Stock Five Crown Series. The first Five Crown event was April 21st, at Shadybowl Speedway were Brett Hudson took the win. The second was at Anderson Speedway on June 16th were Josh Poore got the win. The third event in the Five Crown is scheduled for this Sunday at Kentucky Motor Speedway. The Five Crown Championship event will now be at Mt. Lawn Speedway on Saturday, August 25th after its original May 6th scheduled event was postponed by rain
