Weather Forces Cancellation of CRA Street Stocks Event at Kentucky Motor Speedway
Salem, IN (July 23, 2018) – The Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS event rescheduled for Sunday, July 22nd at Kentucky Motor Speedway was canceled because of weather. Persistent rain showers halted all on track activity trough out the afternoon and early evening. The rain finally stopped and racetrack personnel made every effort to get the track dry, but with the high humidity, no wind and no sun hindering the track drying efforts, the race track would not dry and Kentucky Motor Speedway officials were forced to cancel the event.
The event will not be rescheduled. All teams that showed up for the rescheduled event will receive 25 show up points towards the series season Championship points and towards the Five Crown Points.
The next scheduled event for the Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks will be the Bi-Centennial 200 on Sunday, August 5th at Winchester Speedway. That event is the fourth event of the Five Crown Series and will pay $3500 to win down to $175 to start, with close to $5,000 in extra cash bonuses that will be awarded by Winchester Speedway officials for this event.
