Chick Confident Entering Second Race in JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Chase for the Championship
Special from Inside Line Promotions – DE SOTO, Kan. (Sept. 26, 2018) – Mandy Chick is confident entering the second race of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Chase for the Championship this weekend at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis.
“I’m both excited and confident going into this weekend and for the championship battle,” she said. “We’ve had a couple of weeks to prepare. I’ve been reviewing my notes and strategizing. I’ve also been mentally and physically preparing myself for the remainder of the year and for next season.”
Chick and the team will depart for Lucas Oil Raceway on Thursday, but will stop for a test day with Butch and Johnny VanDoorn on Friday.
“With the test session, we’re focusing on both qualifying and race trim,” Chick said. “We are trying to use every resource we can to be the best we can be and win a championship.”
Chick will practice and qualify at Lucas Oil Raceway on Saturday and she will compete in the 100-lap feature on Sunday.
“Qualifying will secure your starting spot, but finishing the race wins you a championship so we’re hoping to carry over what we learn from the test session and apply that this weekend to grab a good finish,” she said. “We’re going into the race with the you can’t win the race on the first lap mentality, so we’re hoping for a top five or top-10 finish and to lock into the top four who will compete for the championship at Winchester Speedway on Oct. 12.”
Since Chick is locked into the Chase she is also eligible for the 2018 CRA Most Popular Driver Award. Fans are able to vote for the most popular driver at Speed51.com once a day. Voting will end on Nov. 1. Votes for Chick can be cast at https://speed51.com/2018-
