CRA Street Stocks Back In Action Saturday at Anderson Speedway
Salem, IN (September 12, 2018) – The Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday at Anderson Speedway located in Anderson, IN, in the third of three series events at the fast quarter mile in 2018. Saturday’s event will be the second event of the series Chase for the Championship.
Saturday’s event will be the ninth point’s event of the season for the CRA Street Stocks. Series winners to date include Brett Hudson in the Five Crown Series opener at Shadybowl Speedway on April 21st, Chuck Barnes Jr., who won his second straight EDCO 50 at the Short Track U.S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway on May 20th, Blake Hillard who won the series event on June 3rd at Salem Speedway, Josh Poore who won the second Five Crown Series event at Anderson Speedway on June 16th, Jake Hinton who got his first ever CRA win at the series event on June 30th at Baer Field Motorsports Park, James Kirby III won the fourth event in the Five Crown Series at Winchester Speedway on August 5th, Danny Adams, who won his first ever CRA event on August 18th at Anderson Speedway and Jason Thompson who won the series last event on Labor Day at Winchester Speedway.
Jacob McElfresh has the lead in the 2018 Chase for the Championship points of the eight drivers trying to win the series 2018 Championship. With non-Chase driver Thompson winning the series 2018 Chase for the Championship opener, points will be very important in Saturday’s second Chase event as only four of the eight Chase drivers will get to compete for the series 2018 Championship on Winchester 400 Weekend.
Adam’s is second in Chase points, he is just two points behind McElfresh. Jason Atkinson is third in Chase points, he is only two points behind Adams. J.J. Schafer is in fourth place in Chase points, he is six points behind Atkinson. Andrew Teepe is in fifth place in Chase points, he is two points behind Schafer. Justin Oberlin is in sixth place in Chase points, he is six points behind Teepe. Kirby III is in seventh place in Chase points, he is five points behind Oberlin. Nathan Greene is in eighth place in Chase points, he is seven points behind Kirby III.
Travis Burge leads the Anderson Speedway Vore’s Welding Street Stock points with multiple feature wins in 2018. Kirby III is in second place, McElfresh is in third place, car owner Larry Greene is in fourth place. Shawn Cullen is in fifth place.
There is an open practice on Friday at Anderson Speedway from 5 to 8pm. Pit Gates open on Saturday at 3:30pm. Practice will begin at 5pm, qualifications will begin at 6:30pm. The race program will begin at 8pm and will include the 75 lap event for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman. Also racing Saturday will be the Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks in a 75 lap feature, the Vore’s Compact Touring Series and the Mel Kenyon Midgets.
