Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks Continue Chase Sunday at Lucas Oil Raceway
Salem, IN (September 26, 2018) – The Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action this weekend in the 2018 CRA Fall Brawl at Lucas Oil Raceway, located just outside of Indianapolis in Brownsburg, Indiana. The CRA Fall Brawl has become a very popular stock car racing event in central Indiana with each feature winner getting an event signature trophy that includes a pair of boxing gloves.
Saturday’s event will be the tenth point’s event of the season for the CRA Street Stocks. Series winners to date include Brett Hudson in the Five Crown Series opener at Shadybowl Speedway on April 21st, Chuck Barnes Jr., who won his second straight EDCO 50 at the Short Track U.S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway on May 20th, Blake Hillard who won the series event on June 3rd at Salem Speedway, Josh Poore who won the second Five Crown Series event at Anderson Speedway on June 16th, Jake Hinton who got his first ever CRA win at the series event on June 30th at Baer Field Motorsports Park, James Kirby III won the fourth event in the Five Crown Series at Winchester Speedway on August 5th, Danny Adams who won his first ever CRA event on August 18th at Anderson Speedway, Jason Thompson who won the series event on Labor Day at Winchester Speedway and Jason Atkinson who won the sereis last event at Anderson Speedway on September 15th.
With his win, Atkinson is the only driver currently locked into the series Championship event at Winchester Speedway on October 13th, as long as he starts Sunday’s race. Sunday’s event is the last of the Chase for the Championship playoff events to decide the other three drivers who will compete for the Championship along with Atkinson. The other seven Chase drivers include second in points Daniel Adams, third in points Jake McElfresh seven points behind Adams, Andrew Teepe 10 points behind McElfresh, J.J. Schafer two points behind Teepe, Kirby III seven points behind Schafer, Justin Obelrin 17 points behind Kirby III and Nathan Greene six points behind Oberlin.
If any of the other seven Chase drivers wins Sunday’s event they will be automatically in the Championship four. If none of the seven Chase drivers wins, final points will decide who the other three will be, or the final two if one of the other seven Chase drivers besides Atkinson does win.
The 2018 CRA Fall Brawl gets started on Saturday, with the pit gates opening at 8:30am, with load in of all participating teams. The six divisions racing in this year’s Fall Brawl include the Midwest Super Modifieds, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, the Vores Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, the I-CAR All-Star Modified Tour, the Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks and the Vores Compact Touring Series presented by Mercer County Electric. Practice starts at 12noon for all six divisions, each division will get two rounds of practice. Qualifying for all six divisions begins at 4:15pm. Unlike past Fall Brawl’s, there will be racing Saturday night including heats and a feature for the Midwest Super Modifieds, a feature for the Vores Compact Touring Series, plus Vintage Sprint Cars, two Motorcycle Stunts and Fireworks to end the night on Saturday.
On Sunday, pit gates open at 10:00am. Racing will begin at 1pm and will include a 40 lap feature for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, the Fall Brawl 100 Presented by JEGS.com for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, a 40 lap feature for the Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks, a 40 lap feature for the I-CAR All-Star Modified Tour and the 25 lap Vore’s Cup for the Vore’s Compact Touring Series to finish off the day.
