JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour & CRA Junior Late Models to Open Season at Flat RockScott Menlen
Indianapolis, IN (Thursday, December 6, 2018) – A historic and exciting late model event will open the season at Flat Rock Speedway. On Sunday afternoon, April 28th, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will begin their 9th season of competition with their first ever appearance at the historic quarter mile, located in southeast, Michigan. The event will also be the unveiling of the recently announced CRA Junior Late Model Series.
The CRA Junior Late Model Series Powered by JEGS will see 10 to 15-year-old drivers compete for both experience and recognition in full size late models with economical drivetrain and suspension alternatives. The inaugural schedule is expected to feature 8-10 races in the Midwest, with most expected to coincide with existing events on the CRA schedules. Seeing success in other areas of the country, RJ Scott, Managing Partner of Champion Racing Association, says he’s excited for the new series.
“Flat Rock is possibly the perfect racetrack (for the inaugural event), small, exciting and with plenty of room to race,” said Scott. “If mother nature works with us…” Scott concluded, “it’s going to be a great weekend.”
Motor City Racing Promotions President, Scott Menlen, whose organization is promoting the event, says it’s an exciting opportunity for everyone involved.
“We are very excited to host the inaugural event for the CRA Junior Late Model Series and bring the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour to Flat Rock Speedway for the first time”, said Menlen. “Flat Rock Speedway is a great, fan friendly facility with a rich history of outstanding racing action. It’s a privilege for us to work with two highly credible organizations (Champion Racing Association and Flat Rock Speedway) to establish this special event.”
