Clay Curts Racing to Kick off the 2019 Season with CRA at Lucas Oil Raceway
Special from Clay Curts Racing – February 25, 2019: Clay Curts Racing will start the 2019 season running the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Series season opening Cabin Fever Championships event on March 30th & 31st at Lucas Oil Raceway. 18-year-old driver Clay Curts will be making his first ever late model start after running Hornets and Street Stocks in 2018. Plans for 2019 are to chase Rookie of the Year honors with the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and to race weekly at South Bend Motor Speedway.
In 2018, Clay raced the Hornet class at South Bend Speedway picking up Rookie of the Year honors and 3rd in the Championship standings. Clay also made Street Stock starts at South Bend, Grundy and Rockford Speedways. Throughout the season Clay picked up 3 fast times, 3 heat race wins and 1 feature win.
For 2019 Clay Curts Racing will be running a Lefthander Chassis with veteran Crew Chief Dave Dotter turning the wrenches. Team owner Kelly Lawler is excited to have an experienced crew of Dave Dotter and former CRA Street Stock driver Eddie Wolf guiding the young driver.
“Clay has excelled in each car we have put him in. I always loved running the CRA Series” remarked Wolf “We are going to have Clay in a car as much as we can in 2019. Running different tracks are only going to help him as we get later into the season”
