Short Track U.S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway up Next for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour
Salem, IN (May 28, 2019) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will continue its ninth season of competition with the $5,000 to win 100 lap event at the Third Annual Short Track U.S. Nationals Presented by Vore’s Welding this Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway. More than 200 race cars split among four classes are expected to be in competition during the two-day event, including racing in Super Late Models, Pro/Crate Late Models, Street Stocks and Compacts.
The100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour/Pro Late Model Short Track U.S. Nationals events in 2017 and 2018 were some very exciting and action-packed events, with a lot of fireworks both on and off the track. Borden, Indiana’s Cole Williams got the win in the inaugural JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour/Pro Late Model Short Track U.S. Nationals event in 2017. Virginia native Josh Reeves patiently waited for his opportunity to race for the lead and got that opportunity when a late caution took out several leader’s cars, giving Reeves the lead on lap 92 and he was able to hold off Jordon Miller and Matt Maurer to get the win. Miller and Maurer’s second and third place finishes were their best ever CRA finishes.
2018 winner Reeves tops the entry list for the 2019 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour/Pro Late Model Short Track U.S. Nationals event. Miller and Maurer are also both entered looking to improve upon their series best finishes in this year’s event.
2017 and 2018 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion Jack Dossey III is entered and is always a threat for the win, especially on the high banked tracks. Dossey III, currently second in ARCA/CRA Super Series points as he looks to claim that series Championship in 2019, got his first CRA win in the ARCA/CRA Super Series season opener at Anderson Speedway on April 6th. Dossey III is the only driver entered to date doing double duty in both the ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Short Track U.S. Nationals events.
Former NASCAR competitor Mike Skinner is entered for Saturday’s JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour/Pro Late Model Short Track U.S. Nationals event. Skinner was last year’s Fast Qualifier and led 56 laps of that event on two separate occasions before contact with another car ended his race on lap 71.
Other top CRA drivers entered include 2014 series Champion Dan Leeck, 2018 series Rookie of the Year and Winchester Speedway Labor Day Weekend event winner Mason Keller, 2018 Winchester Speedway Season Championship event winner Wes Griffith Jr., Mandy Chick, Shawn Szep, Trey Craig, Peter McVey and series rookies James Cretacci, James Kirby III the 2018 Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Champion and Tyler MacKenzie. Both Keller and Kirby III will pull double duty on Saturday by also racing in the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Short Track U.S. Nationals event.
