JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Ready for Crown Jewel Event at Baer Field Motorsports Park Sunday
Salem, IN (June 25, 2019) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will return to action this Sunday in the Crown Jewel 100 Presented by JEGS.com at Baer Field Motorsports Park located just south of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will be part of a huge historic weekend of racing at Baer Field Motorsports Park, the three day event will also feature a $20,000 to win ICAR Modifieds All-Star Tour event, the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks in there 60 lap $5,000 to win Crown Jewel event, the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models.
Saturday’s event will be the series fourth event of the season, Johnny VanDoorn picked up the win in the series season opener at Birch Run Speedway on May 18th. Former NASCAR competitor Mike Skinner picked up the win in the series second event of the season at Bristol Motor Speedway on June 1st. Auburn, Indiana’s Hunter Jack won his first ever JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event last Saturday at Anderson Speedway in the series third event of the season.
Topping the list of entries for Saturday’s event is current series points leader Dan Leeck, who was the series 2014 Champion and has one series win to his credit at Birch Run Speedway during the 2015 season. Second in points Mandy Chick is entered, she is 22 points behind Leeck. Third in points Mason Keller is also entered, the series 2018 Rookie of the Year is six points behind Chick. Fourth in points Trever McCoy is entered, he is six points behind Keller. Leading series rookie Jaden Cretacci is also entered, he is fifth in points, 14 points behind McCoy.
Brian Campbell, the winner of last years first ever series event at Baer Field, is also entered. Last season Campbell passed Daniel Hemric as the series all-time wins leader, he now has nine series victories coming into this Sunday’s event. Campbell picked up his 29th all-time ARCA/CRA Super Series win last Sunday at Toledo Speedway.
Anderson Speedway event winner Hunter Jack is entered, he won a Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman event at Baer Field last August, his first ever CRA win. Hunter’s brother Tanner is also entered, he is a former Baer Field Late Model event winner.
Former series event winner at Auto City Speedway Eric Lee is entered as is former Columbus Motor Speedway multi-time Champion Chad Pendleton.
15-year-old Sammy Smith is entered to make his second series start. Smith led 24 laps in his series debut last Saturday at Anderson Speedway, he came back from the tail of the field after being involved in two cautions to finish fourth.
Other top CRA drivers entered include Anthony Danta, Tyler Hufford, Cassten Everidge, Shawn Szep, James Krueger, Matt Maurer, Jaren Crabtree and Jimmy Tucker.
Former ICAR Modifieds All-Star Tour Champion and Fort Wayne native Jonathan Martin is entered to make his JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour on Sunday.
There are two sessions of open practice for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour on Saturday, pits open at 8am. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will have a 40-minute session at 12:30pm and a 30-minute session beginning at 4:45pm.
Pits open on Sunday at 8am. There will be a 45-minute practice session for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour beginning at 9:30am. Jerico Performance Products Qualifying will begin at 11am. Racing action will begin at 1:15pm and will include the Crown Jewel 100 Presented by JEGS.com for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour.
