Kil-Kare Raceway Up Next for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman
Salem, IN (July 31, 2019) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Sunday at Kil-Kare Raceway, located just outside of Xenia, Ohio. Sunday’s event will be the first ever Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman versus the Shadybowl Speedway Late Models Challenge. For the first time ever, officials from Shadybowl and CRA have worked out a Challenge Format to bring the best Late Model Sportsman drivers from the Midwest for this challenge event at Kil-Kare Raceway. The event will be a co-promotion between CRA, the Vores Compact Touring Series and Shadybowl Speedway promoter Rick Young. This will be the only racing event on the oval track at Kil-Kare Raceway in 2019.
The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS kicked off their 2019 season at Anderson Speedway on April 13th were Jeff Marcum went wire to wire to get the dominating victory by almost three seconds over second place Tommy Cook. Tinkle got the win in the series second event of the season at Mt. Lawn Speedway, that event was the first event of the series Triple Crown mini-series. Austin Coe got the win in the series third event of the season at Baer Field Motorsports Parkon July 6th on the tracks Crown Jewel Weekend. With their wins, Tinkle and Coe are locked into the series 2019 Chase for the Championship as long as they race in 70% of the series events leading up to the Chase.
2007 series Champion Billy Hutson comes into Sunday’s event as the series point’s leader. There is a three-way tie for second place with Coe, Corey Setser and series rookie Brian Demland, they are 28 points behind Hutson. Jeremy Wallen is in fifth place, he is 32 points behind the trio tied for second.
Matt Parsons currently leads the points for the Shadybowl Speedway Dave Nagel Excavating Late Models and won this past Saturday night’s Blackford 55 Memorial event at Shadybowl. Multi-time track Champion Josh Smith is second in points, with Ryan Fleming third in points.
There is an open practice at Kil-Kare Raceway this Thursday evening from 4 to 8pm. On Sunday, pit gates open at 12noon. Practice will begin at 1:30pm. Qualifying will begin at 3:45pm. The race program is set to begin at 5pm and will include the 75 lap Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman versus the Shadybowl Speedway Late Models Challenge event. The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks will have a 75 lap feature, The Vores Compact Touring Series will have a 30 lap feature. There will be a 100 lap Compact/FWD Endure Feature to conclude the racing action Sunday.
