Triple Crown 100 at Baer Field Motorsports Park Up Next for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman
Salem, IN (July 17, 2019) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday at Baer Field Motorsports Park, located just south of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Saturday’s event will be the second event in the 2019 Triple Crown Series for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, which will feature three 100-lap, $2000 to win events, and a points fund that will pay the Triple Crown Champion $1000. There will also be two random draw winners for $500 each from all teams that have attended all three Triple Crown events. The Triple Crown Series started off with the Raintree 100 at Mt. Lawn Speedway on June 30th were Zachary Tinkle got his first ever CRA win. The Triple Crown Championship event will be at Anderson Speedway on August 17th. Saturday’s Triple Crown 100 will be contested on the ½ mile track at Baer Field.
The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS kicked off their 2019 season at Anderson Speedway on April 13th were Jeff Marcum went wire to wire to get the dominating victory by almost three seconds over second place Tommy Cook. Tinkle got the win in the series second event of the season at Mt. Lawn. Austin Coe got the win in the series third event of the season at Baer Field on July 6th on the tracks Crown Jewel Weekend. With their wins, Tinkle and Coe are locked into the series 2019 Chase for the Championship as long as they race in 70% of the series events leading up to the Chase.
2007 series Champion Billy Hutson comes into Saturday’s event as the series point’s leader. There is a three-way tie for second place with Coe, Corey Setser and series rookie Brian Demland, they are 28 points behind Hutson. Jeremy Wallen is in fifth place, he is 32 points behind the trio tied for second.
There is an open practice at Baer Field on Friday evening from 3 to 8pm. On Saturday, pit gates open at 1:30pm. Practice will begin at 2:30pm. Qualifying for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman will be at 5pm. The race program is set to begin at 7pm and will include the 100-lap Triple Crown event for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman on the 1/2-mile track at Baer Field.
