Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Model Series Ready for Speedrome Sunday
Salem, Indiana (July 10, 2019): The newest series sanctioned by Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS, the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models, will have their third event of their inaugural 2019 season this Sunday at the Indianapolis Speedrome, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models will join the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks in the first ever CRA event at the Indianapolis Speedrome.
The Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models is a new racing series in 2019 to focus on a youth movement for short track stock car racing that will see 10 to 15-year-old drivers compete amongst themselves for both experience and recognition in full size late models with an economical drive train and suspension alternatives. Saturday’s race will be the third of eight scheduled races for the series in 2019. The series has had one event canceled because of weather another rescheduled because of weather.
Some of the key components for the rule package for the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models will be the mandated use of the $3900 factory sealed Chevrolet Performance 602 crate engine. Teams will also be utilizing less expensive rear ends, transmissions and springs and spec KONI Shocks. The series will also be racing on 8-inch steel wheels and utilizing 8-inch Hoosier Racing tires.
13-year-old Luke Wilhelm came away with the victory in the inaugural 25 lap feature for the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models on May 18th at Birch Run Speedway.14-year-old Chase Burda, got the win in last Saturday’s second event of the season at Baer Field Motorsports Park, as part of the huge Crown Jewel Weekend.
Burda leads the series Championship points standings after two events. Luke Wilhelm is in second, he is four points behind Burda. Katelyn Hettinger is in third place, 13 points behind Wilhelm. Charlie Keeven is in fourth place, four points behind Hettinger. Zack Wilhelm is in fifth place, three points behind Keeven.
There is open practice time for the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models as part of the Indianapolis Speedromes Race Program on Saturday, from 3 to 5pm and again at 7:40pm. On Sunday, pit gates open at 10am. Practice will begin at 11:30am. The race program is set to begin at 2pm and will include the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models 8 lap heat races and 25 lap feature.
