Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Begin Chase for the Championship Monday at Winchester
Salem, IN (August 28, 2019) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will begin its Chase for the Championship this Monday on the famous High Banks of Winchester Speedway as part of the Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival, one of the biggest stock car events held each year in Central Indiana. The weekend will feature exciting racing action from the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance, ICAR Modifieds All-Star Tour, Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks, Vores Touring Compacts and Thunder Roadsters. Camping will be available all weekend and there will also be the annual Sunday night party in the pavilion featuring live music.
Saturday will be the tenth event of the 2019 season for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks, who opened their 2019 season at Anderson Speedway on April 13th, were Bret Miles Jr. got the victory. Chuck Barnes Jr. won the second event of the season on June 1st at Bristol Motor Speedway. Jason Atkinson picked up the win at the series third event of the season on June 29th at Baer Field Motorsports Park. Amonett got the win in the series fourth event of the season, the non-points $5,000 to win Crown Jewel event at Baer Field on July 6th.
Ben Tunney won the fifth event of the season at the Indianapolis Speedrome on July 14th. Amonett returned to victory lane in the sixth event of the season on July 28th at Mt. Lawn Speedway. Chad Pendleton picked up his first series win in the series seventh event on August 4th at Kil-Kare Raceway. Brett Hudson got the win in the eighth event of the season at Anderson Speedway on August 10th and won the series last event this past Saturday at Shadybowl Speedway.
The series will begin its 2019 Chase for the Championship on Monday, 2019 will be the third season the series has used this playoff style format to crown its Champion. The second event of the Chase will be at Lucas Oil Raceway on September 15th, the third event of the Chase will be at Anderson Speedway on September 28th with the final Championship event on Saturday, October 12th on Winchester 400 Weekend.
Andrew Teepe was the regular season points Champion and is locked into the final four drivers who will race for the series Championship as long as he competes in all three Chase events leading up to the Championship event. The other drivers earning the right to compete over the next three point events to be in the final four drivers to compete for the series Championship on Winchester 400 weekend include Atkinson, the series 2014 and 2015 points Champion, with his victory at Baer Field, Jacob McElfresh, J.J. Schafer, Daniel Adams and leading series rookie Dallas Frueh by points and participation during the 2019 season. Atkinson picked up the series Four Crown Championship in last Saturday’s Four Crown Championship event at Shadybowl.
Van Hoy Oil has posted a $100 cash bonus if a driver can establish a new track record in qualifying for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks on Sunday at Winchester Speedway.
There will be an open practice for all divisions on Saturday, pits open at 10am, and rotating practice will go from 1pm until 5pm. There will be security at the track all weekend so teams can leave their equipment in the track. Pits open on Sunday at 10am, practice will begin at 12noon with qualifying starting at 3pm. Racing action on Sunday will begin at 5pm and will include heat races for the ICAR Modifieds All-Star Tour, CRA Late Model Sportsman, CRA Street Stocks, Thunder Roadsters and the Vore’s Touring Compacts. The Winchester 100 Presented by JEGS.com for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will be the first feature of the night and will be followed by a 20-lap feature for the Vore’s Touring Compacts. The traditional Sunday night party will begin after the racing is completed.
Pits open on Monday at 10am. The first of five feature events will start at 1pm with the 20 lap Thunder Roadsters feature, then the 40 lap CRA Late Model Sportsman feature, followed by the 100 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series feature, then the 40 lap ICAR Modifieds All-Star Tour feature, with the 40 lap CRA Street Stocks feature ending the day.
