Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks at Anderson Speedway Saturday
Salem, IN (September 25, 2019) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday at Anderson Speedway, located in Anderson, Indiana. Saturday’s event will be the third and final series event at Anderson during the 2019 season. The event will also feature the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS and the Season Championship event for the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models
Saturday’s event will be the 12th event of the 2019 season for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks, who opened their 2019 season at Anderson Speedway on April 13th, were Bret Miles Jr. got the victory. Chuck Barnes Jr. won the second event of the season on June 1st at Bristol Motor Speedway. Jason Atkinson picked up the win at the series third event of the season on June 29th at Baer Field Motorsports Park. Ryan Amonett got the win in the series fourth event of the season, the non-points $5,000 to win Crown Jewel event at Baer Field on July 6th, which was his first ever CRA win. Ben Tunney won the fifth event of the season at the Indianapolis Speedrome on July 14th, his first ever CRA victory.
Amonett returned to victory lane in the sixth event of the season on July 28th at Mt. Lawn Speedway. Chad Pendleton picked up his first series win in the series seventh event on August 4th at Kil-Kare Raceway. Brett Hudson got the win in the eighth event of the season at Anderson Speedway on August 10th and the ninth event on August 24th at Shadybowl Speedway. 2011 series Champion Jeff Lane got the win in the series 10th event of the season at Winchester Speedway on Labor Day Weekend. Barnes Jr. got the win in the series last event at Lucas Oil Raceway on September 15th.
The series began its 2019 Chase for the Championship at Winchester Speedway on Labor Day Weekend. The second event of the Chase was the Fall Brawl event at Lucas Oil Raceway on September 15th. The third event of the Chase will be at Anderson Speedway this Saturday, with the Season Championship event on Saturday, October 12th on Winchester 400 Weekend.
Andrew Teepe was the regular season points Champion and is locked into the final four drivers who will race for the series Championship, as long as he competes in Saturday’s Chase events. There are five drivers that will be racing for the final three positions in the final four to race for the Season Championship, if one of those drivers wins Saturday, then they will be locked in, the third and fourth positions would then be decided by points earned during the Chase. If none of those five drivers wins Saturday night, then the final three positions would go to the three drivers who earned the highest number of points during the Chase that are not already locked in.
The five drivers racing for those final three positions on Saturday include Atkinson and J.J. Schafer who are tied for second in points behind Teepe. Also, Jacob McElfresh who is three points behind Atkinson and Schafer, 2019 series Rookie of the Year Dallas Frueh who is 25 points behind McElfresh and Danny Adams, who is 16 points behind Frueh.
This past Saturday night Josh Poore was crowned the Anderson Speedway Vore’s Welding & Steel Street Stock Champion for the third time in four years, the event was won by Calvin Parham with Jake Owens in second and Poore in third.
There is an open practice at Anderson on Friday evening from 4 to 7pm. On Saturday, pit gates open at 2:30pm. Practice will begin at 4pm. Allstar Performance Qualifying for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman will be at 5:30pm. The race program is set to begin at 7pm and will include the 75-lap feature event for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks.
