Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Continue Chase Sunday at Lucas Oil Raceway
Fall Brawl Feature Event to Pay $1,000 to Win
Salem, IN (September 12, 2019) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action this weekend in the 2019 CRA Fall Brawl Presented by Elwood Antique Mall & Flea Market at the famed Lucas Oil Raceway, located just outside of Indianapolis in Brownsburg, Indiana. The CRA Fall Brawl has become a very popular stock car racing event in central Indiana with each feature winner getting an event signature trophy that includes a pair of boxing gloves.
Sunday will be the eleventh event of the 2019 season for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks, who opened their 2019 season at Anderson Speedway on April 13th, were Bret Miles Jr. got the victory. Chuck Barnes Jr. won the second event of the season on June 1st at Bristol Motor Speedway. Jason Atkinson picked up the win at the series third event of the season on June 29th at Baer Field Motorsports Park. Amonett got the win in the series fourth event of the season, the non-points $5,000 to win Crown Jewel event at Baer Field on July 6th.
Ben Tunney won the fifth event of the season at the Indianapolis Speedrome on July 14th. Amonett returned to victory lane in the sixth event of the season on July 28th at Mt. Lawn Speedway. Chad Pendleton picked up his first series win in the series seventh event on August 4th at Kil-Kare Raceway. Brett Hudson got the win in the eighth event of the season at Anderson Speedway on August 10th and the ninth event on August 24th at Shadybowl Speedway. 2011 series Champion Jeff Lane got the win in the series last event at Winchester Speedway on Labor Day Weekend.
The series began its 2019 Chase for the Championship at Winchester Speedway on Labor Day Weekend. The second event of the Chase will be this weekend’s Fall Brawl event. The third event of the Chase will be at Anderson Speedway on September 28th with the Season Championship event on Saturday, October 12th on Winchester 400 Weekend.
Andrew Teepe was the regular season points Champion and is locked into the final four drivers who will race for the series Championship, as long as he competes in all the three remaining Chase events. After the Winchester event Jacob McElfresh is second in Chase points to Teepe. J.J. Schafer is in third, he is only three points behind McElfresh. Atkinson is in fourth, he is two points behind Schafer. Leading series rookie Dallas Frueh is in fifth place, he is 16 points behind Atkinson. Daniel Adams is the final Chase driver in sixth, he is two points behind Frueh.
The 2019 CRA Fall Brawl gets started on Friday with an open practice, pits open at 4pm, open practice will go from 6 to 9pm.
On Saturday the pit gates will open at 8:30am. The six divisions racing in this year’s Fall Brawl include the Midwest Super Modifieds, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, the Vores Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, the I-CAR All-Star Modified Tour, the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks and the Vores Compact Touring Series powered by Mercer County Electric. Practice starts at 12noon on Saturday for all six divisions, each division will get two rounds of practice. Qualifying for all six divisions begins at 4:15pm.
There will be racing Saturday night including heats and a feature for the Midwest Super Modifieds, plus Vintage Sprint Cars and a Motorcycle Stunt Show. Also, on Saturday there will be a Vendor midway featuring flea market vendors and a swap meet, with racing vendors expected in attendance as well as a huge car show with trophies and door prizes. During Saturday’s racing activities, event promoter Dave Duncan will recognize some important people to Motorsports throughout the Midwest and around the country with a special awards presentation.
On Sunday, pit gates open at 10:00am. Racing will begin at 1pm and will include a 40 lap feature for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, the Fall Brawl 100 Presented by JEGS.com for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, a 40 lap special $1,000 to win feature for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks, a 40 lap feature for the I-CAR All-Star Modified Tour and the 25 lap feature for the Vore’s Compact Touring Series to finish off the day.
