Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Continue Chase Sunday at Lucas Oil Raceway
Fall Brawl Feature Event to Pay $1,200 to Win
Salem, IN (September 11, 2019) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will be back in action this weekend in the 2019 CRA Fall Brawl Presented by Elwood Antique Mall & Flea Market at the famed at Lucas Oil Raceway, located just outside of Indianapolis in Brownsburg, Indiana. The CRA Fall Brawl has become a very popular stock car racing event in central Indiana with each feature winner getting an event signature trophy that includes a pair of boxing gloves.
The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS kicked off their 2019 season at Anderson Speedway on April 13th were Jeff Marcum got the win. Zachary Tinkle got the win in the series second event of the season at Mt. Lawn on June 30th. Austin Coe got the win in the series third event of the season at Baer Field on July 6th on the tracks Crown Jewel Weekend. Justin Alsip picked up the win in the fourth event of the season at Kil-Kare Raceway on August 4th. Ronnie Rose got the win in the series Triple Crown Championship event at Anderson Speedway on August 17th, the fifth event of the season. 2007 series Champion Billy Hutson won the series last event on Labor Day Weekend at Winchester Speedway and is the defending winner of the Fall Brawl event.
The series began its 2019 Chase for the Championship at Winchester Speedway on Labor Day Weekend. The second event of the Chase will be the Fall Brawl this Sunday, the third event of the Chase will be at Anderson Speedway on September 28th, with the final Championship event on Saturday, October 12th on Winchester 400 Weekend.
Corey Setser was the regular season points Champion and is locked into the final four drivers who will race for the series Championship as long as he competes in all three Chase events leading up to the Championship event. With his win at Winchester, Hutson is also now locked into the final four drivers to compete for the Championship. The other four drivers earning the right to compete over the next two point events to decide the last two drivers to compete for the series Championship on Winchester 400 weekend include third in Chase points Austin Coe, Kent Carson who is 14 points behind Coe, leading series rookie Brian Demland who is two points behind Carson, Triple Crown Champion Zachary Tinkle who is eight points behind Demland.
The 2019 CRA Fall Brawl gets started on Friday with an open practice, pits open at 4pm, open practice will go from 6 to 9pm.
On Saturday the pit gates will open at 8:30am. The six divisions racing in this year’s Fall Brawl include the Midwest Super Modifieds, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, the Vores Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, the I-CAR All-Star Modified Tour, the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks and the Vores Compact Touring Series powered by Mercer County Electric. Practice starts at 12noon on Saturday for all six divisions, each division will get two rounds of practice. Qualifying for all six divisions begins at 4:15pm.
There will be racing Saturday night including heats and a feature for the Midwest Super Modifieds, plus Vintage Sprint Cars and a Motorcycle Stunt Show. Also, on Saturday there will be a Vendor midway featuring flea market vendors and a swap meet, with racing vendors expected in attendance as well as a huge car show with trophies and door prizes. During Saturday’s racing activities, event promoter Dave Duncan will recognize some important people to Motorsports throughout the Midwest and around the country with a special awards presentation.
On Sunday, pit gates open at 10:00am. Racing will begin at 1pm and will include a 40 lap, special $1,200 to win feature for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, the Fall Brawl 100 Presented by JEGS.com for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, a 40 lap feature for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks, a 40 lap feature for the I-CAR All-Star Modified Tour and the 25 lap feature for the Vore’s Compact Touring Series to finish off the day.
