Runyon Wins 2019 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Award
Salem, IN (October 23, 2019) – 2017 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Logan Runyon has won the 2019 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Award after 12 ARCA/CRA Super Series point events during the 2019 race season. Runyon gained a total of 35 positions in the 10 series point events he participated in. Runyon gained his most positions at the August 7th event at Kalamazoo Speedway, were he had problems during his qualifying run that resulted in a 20th place starting position. Runyon was able to drive through the field that day and get a fifth-place finish, gaining 15 positions and earning that event’s Progressive Racing Engines Hardcharger Award, as well as a Hoosier Racing Tire Performance Award.
2019 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Greg Van Alst finished in second in the 2019 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger standings with 19 gained positions. Van Alst gained 13 of those positions in the series last two events of the season. He gained nine positions in the Glass City 200 event at Toledo Speedway on September 21st and then gained four positions in the series Season Championship Winchester 400 event on October 13th.
Kyle Crump finished in third with seven gained positions. Eddie Van Meter was fourth with six gained position. 2018 series Champion Josh Brock was fifth with four gained positions.
Cometic Gasket, the Official Gasket of the ARCA/CRA Super Series, will award an $800 cash bonus to 2019 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Award winner Runyon at the 2019 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet. A driver must be in the top 15 in series points to be eligible for this award.
