After Successful World Series, CRA Returning in 2021
After an overwhelmingly successful 2020 World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, Champion Racing Association (CRA) will return in 2021 to manage technical inspection procedures and on-track competition at the 55th Annual World Series in 2021.
CRA officials worked with the New Smyrna Speedway staff and officials throughout the 2020 World Series, an event which saw strong car counts and incredible fan turnout during the nine nights of racing.
Andrew Hart, co-owner of New Smyrna Speedway, was thrilled with CRA’s involvement in the World Series and is excited to bring them back for another year.
“It really was fantastic,” Hart told Speed51. “There was no hesitancy or doubt in our mind to have them come back next year. From fans, drivers, crews, we had people coming up to us and saying CRA was so professional and helpful while, at the same time, making sure everything was set for the races with a level playing field.
“The number one thing everyone was saying was that it was fun to be here for the World Series. To us, if people are having fun, that’s half the battle right there.”
CRA Race Director Glenn Luckett was also pleased to see not just the level of success the event enjoyed in 2020, but also how much fun competitors and fans had during the event.
“The racing was awesome all week long,” said Luckett. “That was the best part. These guys raced, they had fun. They go back, hopefully they spread the word and next year we have more fans, more racers. That’s what we want to see.”
The 55thAnnual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing will take place from February 5-13, 2021, with nine nights of feature racing over the course of the event. The World Series draws racers from across the United States and Canada each year to compete during Speedweeks in Florida.
