JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Kicks Off 2020 Points Season Saturday at Lebanon I-44 Speedway
Salem, IN (May 27, 2019) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance is finally set to kick off it’s 2020 Points Season with a recently scheduled visit to Lebanon I-44 Speedway this Saturday in the Lucas Oil Show Me State Showdown Presented by Speed 51. The COVID-19 pandemic caused several series events to be postponed or cancelled, but Track Enterprises decided just two weeks ago to lease Lebanon I-44 Speedway and schedule the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour season opener as part of a huge CRA show that will also include the season points opener for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS and a special non-points event for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks.
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour competed at the three-eighths mile Lebanon I-44 Speedway oval five times from 2013 through 2017 with the Masters of the Pro’s special event. The last race, July 3, 2017 was won by former Lebanon I-44 Speedway Track Champion Cole Williams.
2019 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Chase for the Championship runner-up Mandy Chick is entered as she seeks her first series Championship after being in the series Chase in both 2018 and 2019. Chick is a former regular at Lebanon I-44 Speedway where she had seven top five finishes in 2016 and 2017.
Michigan racer Trever McCoy is entered for Saturday’s event as he tries again for his first series Championship. McCoy has been in the series Chase for the Championship in 2018 and 2019, he finished fourth in the Chase in 2019. 2019 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Rookie of the Year Jaden Cretacci is entered to return for his second season with the series after finishing sixth in the 2019 series Chase for the Championship.
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour has a solid group of Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year candidates entered for Saturday’s event including 2019 Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Champion Zachary Tinkle, 2019 Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models Champion Chase Burda, 2019 Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models Chase for the Championship runner-up Charlie Keeven and Fair Grove, Missouri’s own Dylan Bates.
Other top series contenders who are entered for Saturday’s event include 2013 and 2016 series Champion and four time series event winner Cody Coughlin, 2017 series Rookie of the Year and four time series event winner Carson Hocevar, third on the series all-time victory list Travis Braden, former series event winner Brandon Oakley, and Michigan racers Evan Shotko, Nate Walton and Tyler Hufford.
Some of the best late model drivers in the country are entered for Saturday’s Lucas Oil Show Me State Showdown Presented by Speed 51 100 for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, making this one of the stoutest fields the series has ever had. Those entries include 2019 and 2018 Masters of the Pro’s winner Bubba Pollard, SpeedFest 2020 series event winner Stephen Nasse, former Masters of the Pro’s and U.S. Short Track National’s winner Cole Williams, former series SpeedFest event winner Casey Roderick and Texas competitor Chris Davidson.
Several local competitors are entered including Grain Valley, Missouri’s Joe Ross, Springfield’s Tim Swearengin, Blue Springs’s Joey Strode, Rayville’s Bobby Russ Wood and Illinois native Jake Griffin, a former regular at Lebanon I-44 Speedway.
Tennessee native Hunter Wright and Michigan’s Dave Killian are entered to make their series debut’s.
Former NASCAR competitor Mike Wallace is entered to make his series debut on Saturday. Wallace is a former track Champion at Lebanon I-44 Speedway with several wins. Wallace will be driving the car normally piloted by his son Matt, also a former regular at Lebanon I-44 Speedway. Wallace made 191 NASCAR Cup Series starts between 1991 and 2015. Wallace made 494 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts between 1990 and 2015 winning four events. Wallace made 115 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series starts between 1995 and 2011 winning five of those events.
There will be an open optional practice on Friday, May 29th, gates open at 2pm Central Time, open practice will go from 4:30pm until 8:30pm. Pit gates open at 9am on Saturday. Practice will begin at 12:30pm with qualifying starting at 4:30pm. The 300 laps of feature racing action will begin at 6:30pm with the 100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour event. The 75 lap Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stock feature will follow. The 125 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series feature will close out the nights racing action. The events rain date if needed will be Sunday, May 31st.
