Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Start 2020 Season Saturday at Lebanon I-44 Speedway
Salem, IN (May 28, 2019) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS are finally set to kick off their 2020 season with its first ever visit to Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri, this Saturday in the Lucas Oil Show Me State Showdown Presented by Speed 51. The COVID-19 pandemic caused several series events to be postponed or cancelled, but Track Enterprises decided just two weeks ago to lease Lebanon I-44 Speedway and schedule the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks special non-points season opener as part of a huge CRA show that will also include the season points opener for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS and the season opener for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance.
There are several former series Champions entered for Saturday’s event including 2014 and 2015 Champion Jason Atkinson, who is third in series all time wins with 12. 2016 Champion Phil Jenkins is entered. 2017 Champion Colby Lane is also entered, Lane is seventh in series all time wins with six.
Former ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Chuck Barnes Jr. is entered for Saturday’s event. Barnes Jr. has raced at Lebanon I-44 Speedway before with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour in the Masters of the Pro’s event, where he had a high finish of second in the 2013 inaugural event that was won by Chase Elliott. Barnes Jr. is fourth is series all time wins with nine, three of those have come in the U.S. Short Track Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Four time series winner Brett Hudson is entered, two of those wins came last season in the Anderson Speedway and Shadybowl Speedway Four Crown Events. Second in the 2019 series Chase for the Championship Andrew Teepe is entered. Third in the 2019 series Chase for the Championship J.J. Schafer is also entered.
Other series part-time competitors entered to make the long haul to compete at Lebanon I-44 Speedway include Indiana racers Derrick Layne, Marcus Elliott, and Austin Woodcox, Kentucky racers Danny Smith, Nick Reed Jr. and Troy Phillips, Ohio racer Josh Way, Iowa racer Dan Banker, and Florida racer Kenny Gibson, who will drive 17 hours to race in this weekend’s event.
A couple local Lebanon I-44 Speedway competitors are entered including Bridgeton’s Aaron Wilke and Fair Grove’s Trevor Icenhower.
There will be an open optional practice on Friday, May 29th, gates open at 2pm Central Time, open practice will go from 4:30pm until 8:30pm. Pit gates open at 9am on Saturday. Practice will begin at 12:30pm with qualifying starting at 4:30pm. The 300 laps of feature racing action will begin at 6:30pm with the 100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour event. The 75 lap Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stock feature will follow. The 125 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series feature will close out the nights racing action. The events rain date if needed will be Sunday, May 31st.
