Kil-Kare Raceway Up Next for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks
Salem, IN (July 29, 2020) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will return to action this Sunday in the series second ever event at Kil-Kare Raceway, located just outside of Xenia, Ohio. Ohio veteran racer Chad Pendleton got his first ever series win in the series event at Kil-Kare Raceway last season.
Sunday’s Kil-Kare Raceway special event will be a co-promotion again between CRA, the Vores Compact Touring Series and Shadybowl Speedway promoter Rick Young, after last year’s successful venture with this event. This will be the only racing event on the oval track at Kil-Kare Raceway in 2020.
Sunday’s event will be the fifth race of the 2020 season and the fourth points race for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks, who opened their 2020 season at Lebanon I-44 Speedway on May 30th with a special non-points event that was won by 2017 series Champion Colby Lane. Lane then picked up the series’ first points event win of 2020 at Mt. Lawn Speedway on June 14th. Andrew Teepe got the win in the series Triple Crown opener at the Indianapolis Speedrome on July 11th. Brett Hudson won this past Saturday’s second Triple Crown event at Shadybowl Speedway.
2014 and 2015 Series Champion Atkinson comes into Sunday’s event as the series points leader. Ryan Amonett is in second, 11 points behind Atkinson. Teepe is in third place, he is just three points behind Amonett. Alan Williams Jr. is in fourth place, he is two points behind Teepe. Leading series rookie Brandon Roberts is in fifth place, he is 21 points behind Williams Jr. Those five are battling for the series regular season Championship, which gives that driver an automatic spot in the final four drivers who will compete for the series Championship in the final Chase for the Championship event at Winchester Speedway on October 10th. Teepe is locked into the series Chase for the Championship with his win if he competes in 70% of the series remaining races.
There is an open practice at Kil-Kare Raceway this Thursday evening from 5 to dark. On Sunday, pit gates open at 11:30am. Practice will begin at 1pm. Qualifying will begin at 3:45pm. The race program is set to begin at 5pm and will include the 75 lap Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks event.
