JEGS to Present 49th Running of Winchester 400
Special from Speed51.com – JEGS has been a long-time partner of the Champion Racing Association, first joining the sanctioning body for the 2011 season and having recently signed an extension through at least 2022. The Delaware, Ohio company will now play a major role for the 49th Winchester 400 as they have been named the presenting sponsor for the event.
With their involvement in this year’s edition of the crown jewel, the 49th Running of the Winchester 400 Presented by JEGS is expected to be bigger than ever. JEGS President John Coughlin is excited to extend the brand’s short track racing reach even further as the presenting sponsor of the Winchester 400.
“We’re real excited to be a part of the Winchester 400 this year. Bob and I had talked some time ago and we talked about JEGS wanting to be a part of one of the biggest circle track races in the country and we said of course,” Coughlin said on “The Bullring” on Speed51. “We want to be a part of all races, especially the big ones.”
Winchester Speedway is a track that JEGS has had wide success at, off the back of two wins and a Winchester 400 runner-up in 2015 for former ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour champion Cody Coughlin.
The elder Coughlin sees much potential in the 49th Running of the Winchester 400 and is looking forward to the October 9-11 weekend.
“Winchester’s an iconic racetrack and with Bob and his gang taking it over and working with Charlie (Shaw, Winchester Speedway owner), we just think it’s going to be a tin-strike and we want to be a part of that. We’re very excited about that.”
It’s a sentiment that Winchester Speedway Promoter Bob Dillnershares with Coughlin. With the race now less than a month away, the excitement continues to build with JEGS coming on board for the event.
“It helps the branding of the Winchester 400, having JEGS on board makes it even bigger that what it traditionally is, one of the crown jewel events in Super Late Model racing,” stated Dillner. “We also have Modifieds and Street Stocks, the Vore’sCompacts and Late Model Sportsman and even Thunder Roadsters there. We’re really excited about JEGS coming on board with the Winchester 400 Presented by JEGS.
“When you get a company like JEGS involved, it just makes everything seem more professional. We’ll have JEGS plastered all over that place. What the Coughlin family does to support racing, not just Winchester but all over the place, it goes hand-in-hand with their business as well.”
The 49th Running of the Winchester 400 Presented by JEGS is scheduled for three action-packed days of racing at the “Fastest Half Mile” on October 9-11.
Big names from throughout the Super Late Model world are expected to compete in the race, including a few drivers who have never competed on the high banks or haven’t competed at Winchester in quite some time. Among those drivers include Bubba Pollard, who announced Monday his intentions to compete in this year’s event.
