Allen and Tucker are Co-Winners of the 2020 Outerwears Crew Chief of the Year Award
Salem, IN (October 14, 2020) – Wille Allen, Crew Chief for 2016 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Cody Coughlin, and Jimmy Tucker, Crew Chief for Michael Simko, are the Co-Winners of the Outerwears Crew Chief of the Year Award with the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS for the 2020 season. This is the first time in the six-year history of the award that there are Co-winners.
The award was based upon the Chase for the Championship format that CRA used to determine its Champions again in 2020. The final four scheduled races were utilized to determine the Outerwears Crew Chief of the Year Award based upon a points system for the Chase teams finish in those four events.
Tucker led the awards points by one over Allen after the series’ first Chase event at Lebanon I-44 Speedway on Labor Day Weekend, after Simko was the highest finishing Chase driver in that event. The two were tied after the second series Chase event at Toledo Speedway were Coughlin was the series highest finishing Chase driver. Allen had a one-point lead over Tucker after the Bristol Chase event. Tucker picked up two points in the series Season Championship Winchester 400 event last Sunday, Allen picked up one point, giving both Crew Chiefs 13 total points over the four Chase events.
Kevin Shannon, Crew Chief for 2019 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Greg Van Alst, finished in third in the Outerwears Crew Chief of the Year Award points with 12 points. Wimmer Motorsports, Crew Chief for newly crowned 2020 series Champion Josh Brock, finished in fourth with 11 points. Kyle Jones, Crew Chief for 2017 series Champion Logan Runyon, finished in fifth place with nine points.
Both Allen and Tucker will receive a $500 cash bonus and a special designed trophy from Outerwears.
