Plenty of Fireworks Planned for Winchester on June 5
Special from Winchester Speedway – The 2021 racing season is finally set to swing into action at Winchester Speedway. It all begins on Saturday, June 5th with the Hoosier Daddy 100.
There will be fireworks both in the sky and on the track on the first Saturday of June. The CRA Street Stocks will be the headliner and will compete in a crown jewel race of their season with a bunch of bucks on the line. The CRA Late Model Sportsman will also join the card with a 51 lap event.
A special treat to all those in attendance is that the weekend will mark the return of the Winchester Old-Timers Reunion. More than 50 vintage cars, from various eras of racing around America, will be making laps on Winchester’s famed high banks. Fans will also have the opportunity to take pictures and sit in some of the machines that will come off the track and onto the midway afterwards.
After all the racing is complete, a special fireworks display will be featured to help kickoff summer time in the Midwest. The world famous Scarrette Pyrotechnics company out of Richmond, IN will be putting on an electrifying show for all fans in attendance.
The Street Stock event will be one of the “Four Crown” races for the CRA Street Stocks, as they will compete for 100 laps around the high banks with $3,000 on the line for the winner. There has been a history of extra-distance CRA Street Stock races held at Winchester dating back to 2005. The Hoosier Daddy 100 will be the first time the mini-series returns since 2018 when James Kirby III won the event on his way to the series championship that year.
The CRA Late Model Sportsman will also be on hand for a 51-lap race alongside the Street Stocks. It will be just the third event of the season for the series, with Jeff Marcum and Austin Coe taking wins at Anderson and Mt. Lawn Speedway.
