Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks at Kil-Kare Raceway Sunday
Salem, IN (July 21, 2021) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Sunday in a special 50 lap, $1,000 to win points event at Kil-Kare Raceway, located just outside of Xenia, Ohio. Sunday’s event will also feature racing from the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS in the Bobby Jacks Memorial 71, the Victory Custom Trailer CRA Junior Late Models, the Vores Compact Touring Series and a Compact/FWD Enduro event.
Saturday’s event will be the eighth event of the season for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks. Jason Atkinson got the win in the series season points opener on April 17th at Anderson Speedway. Chuck Barnes Sr. won a special non-points series event at Salem Speedway on April 25th. Atkinson got the win in the Four Crown event at Shadybowl Speedway on May 1st. Chuck Barnes Jr. picked up the win in the series event at Salem Speedway on May 15th. Atkinson won the series second Four Crown event at Winchester on June 5th, then won the series event at Mt. Lawn Speedway on June 13th and then claimed his third Four Crown event of the season at Anderson Speedway on June 26th.
With his five wins and a second in the series six-point events this season, Atkinson comes into Saturday night’s event as the series season points leader. Andrew Teepe is in second place, he is 59 points behind Atkinson. Jordan Hahn is in third place, he is 83 points behind Teepe. Leading series rookie Dawson Phillips is in fourth place, he is 57 points behind Hahn. Rookie Kimmie Grieg is in fifth place, she is only one point behind Phillips in a tough battle for the series 2021 Rookie of the Year Award. Atkinson, Teepe and Phillips have all pre-entered for the Kil-Kare event.
Sunday’s event is also expected to attract many of the top street stock drivers in the Ohio area and from Shadybowl Speedway including former CRA Street Stock Kil-Kare winner Chad Pendleton. Recent Firecracker 150 event winner at Salem Speedway Chuck Barnes Jr. will be at Sunday’s event looking to continue his hot streak that saw him also win the Ohio Wheelman Series Street Stock event at Kil-Kare Raceway on June 27th.
On Sunday pit gates will open at 11:00am. Practice will begin at 1pm. Qualifying will begin at 3:30pm. The race program is set to begin at 5pm with the 30-lap feature for the Victory Custom Trailer CRA Junior Late Models, then the 30 lap A-Main for the Vores Compact Touring Series, followed by the $1,000 to win 50 lap Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks feature and then the Bobby Jack’s Memorial 71 for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman. The 75 lap Compact/FWD Enduro will close out the evening of racing action.
General Admission tickets will be on sale at the gate on Sunday, adults for $15, children 6 to 12 will be $5, children 5 and under are free.
