Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Set for Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Return SaturdayZach Hiser
Salem, IN (October 26, 2021) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will finish their 17th season of competition this Saturday in the series second ever event on the 5/8-mile oval at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, as part of the huge US Tank All American 400 in Memory of Jillian Brown in the Music City after last year’s very successful debut event. Saturday nights 50 lap feature winner will receive one of the coveted Guitar Trophies given out traditionally to feature winners at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway events, plus pay the winner $2,000.
Saturday’s event will be the 12th event of the season for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks. Jason Atkinson got the win in the series season points opener on April 17th at Anderson Speedway. Chuck Barnes Sr. won a special non-points series event at Salem Speedway on April 25th. Atkinson got the win in the Four Crown event at Shadybowl Speedway. Chuck Barnes Jr. picked up the win in the series event at Salem Speedway on May 15th. Atkinson won the next three events including the Four Crown event at Winchester Speedway on June 6th, the series event at Mt. Lawn Speedway on June 13th and the third Four Crown event of the season at Anderson Speedway on June 26th.
Brett Hudson got his first series win of the 2021 season at the Four Crown Championship event at Anderson Speedway on August 14th, Atkinson won the Four Crown Championship. Atkinson went back to victory lane in the series’ event at Anderson Speedway on September 18th. Terry Fisher Jr. picked up the series win at the Fall Brawl event at Lucas Oil Raceway on October 9th. Atkinson finished off his great points season with the series by picking up his seventh win of the season and the series 2021 Season Championship at Winchester Speedway on October 16th.
Last year’s Nashville winner Jeffrey Belt is entered to defend his home turf, as the Nashville native seeks to claim his second series win and the coveted Guitar Trophy for car owner Randy Hulsey.
Belt will have plenty of stiff competition for the 2021 event led by former NASCAR competitors Ken Shrader and Kenny Wallace. Shrader will be back behind the wheel of the Chuck Barnes Sr. team car he piloted in April at Salem Speedway to a fifth-place finish. Wallace will make his series debut behind the wheel of a potent Brett Hudson team car as he looks to claim the Guitar Trophy.
Hudson is also entered looking to finish one position better than his second-place finish in last years event and claim his first Guitar Trophy in Nashville. Chuck Barnes Jr., a former All-American 400 winner in a Super Late Model at Nashville, is also entered after missing last years event.
Jason Atkinson is also entered as he looks to continue his great season in 2021 that included a record seven series wins, plus two second place finishes and a third in the series 10-point events. Atkinson finished fifth in last year’s event at Nashville.
Other top series competitors entered for the event includes series Chase for the Championship competitor Andrew Teepe, Chad Pendleton, JJ Schafer, Dallas Frueh, Josh Sage, Jamie Sites, Rance Harmon, Thomas Skiles, Austin Maynard, Blaine Akin and Aaron Wilke.
Two other Tennessee competitors are entered to make their series debut’s including Nashville’s Michael Crow and Portland’s Jackson McLerran, a rookie competitor in the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Street Stocks during the 2021 season. Alabama racer Austin Evans is also entered to make his series debut.
The All American 400 Weekend begins on Friday, October 29 with Super Late Model and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Model open practice from 12 to 4pm, followed by a full racing program for the Nashville weekly classes including Bandoleros, Street Stocks, Front Runners, Pure Stocks, Legends, and Limited Late Models starting at 6:30pm.
On Saturday, October 30, practice will be held in the afternoon with group qualifying for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks and Vores Compact Touring Series at 3:30pm, followed by single car qualifying for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Models and Super Late Models for their portions of the All American 400. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and Super Late Models will also have their All-American Showdown events in addition to the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks 50 lap feature and Vores Compact Touring Series 40 lap feature starting at 5:30pm on Saturday.
The weekend will finish up on Sunday, October 31 with the running of the US Tank All American 400 in Memory of Jillian Brown, which will include a 100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Model event and the Super Late Model 300 lap event that is sanctioned by the ARCA/CRA Super Series, Southern Super Series and the ARCA Midwest Tour. Pre-race ceremonies will begin at 12:00 noon with feature racing beginning at 1:00 PM.
Also included for the weekend, Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock and Roll Steakhouse will be the official Honky Tonk for the US Tank All American 400 in Memory of Jillian Brown. Kid Rock will be the Grand Marshal for the US Tank All American 400 in Memory of Jillian Brown.
