Nashville Winner Hunter Wright to Make Anderson Super Series Debut Saturday
Nashville, TN (Tuesday, April 25, 2023) – A household name for fans and competitors in the mid-south is Hunter Wright. The 2020 Rookie of the Year at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway (NFS) is looking to make his first career Anderson Speedway Super Late Model start, and he’ll do so with the ASA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS during the O’Reilly Auto Parts 125 on Saturday, April 29th.
Wright has been climbing the asphalt racing ladder over the past few seasons. After wrapping up three consecutive Legends Championship runs, Wright took his talents to the Pro Late Model division with the support of Day Racing Products and 31-W Insulation. Since making the move, Wright has not only grabbed Rookie of the Year honors in 2020 by finishing fourth in overall points, but he also grabbed two wins at NFS in 2021 in their Pro Late Model division.
Saturday’s trip to Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana will be the second-ever trip to Anderson for the Gladeville, Tennessee native. Last season, Wright made the five hour trip north to race with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour during the Fudge Packer 100 Presented by Uranus Fudge Factory. Wright was caught up in a multi-car accident on lap 55 that included eventual series champion, Dakota Stroupe, CRA regular, James Krueger, fellow Nashville competitor, Zach Johnson, and Michigan standout, Kevin Cremonesi.
Wright is hoping for better luck on Saturday during his return to Anderson Speedway. It’ll be just his third career start with the ASA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS. His first came during the 2021 All American 400, a race that ended in disappointment after a mechanical failure. His other start came earlier this year when he gained 8 positions during the SpeedFest 150 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in January. Wright says he’s hoping to continue his momentum after a win last week at Nashville, but says there isn’t anything like Anderson.
“The track isn’t really similar to anywhere I’ve been before,” explained Wright. “It’s so rough, but I did really enjoy it last year, it makes it more challenging to get around.”
Wright will look to claim his first career ASA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS win during the O’Reilly Auto Parts 125 at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, April 29th.
